How to plan a week of meals
- Check what you already have. Build the first two or three dinners around what’s in the fridge and pantry.
- Plan dinners first, then lunches. Cook a bigger dinner on Sunday or Monday and write the leftovers straight into the next day’s lunch.
- Keep one flexible night. Leave Thursday or Friday open for leftovers, eggs or takeout so one change doesn’t break the plan.
- Write the grocery list last, grouped the way your store is laid out: produce, dairy, meat, pantry, frozen.
Small habits that make it stick
- Theme nights (pasta Monday, tacos Tuesday, soup Wednesday) cut the decision to one ingredient.
- Use the prep box. “Cook rice and roast vegetables Sunday” saves twenty minutes on three weeknights.
- Keep last week’s page. After a month you have a rotation of meals your household actually eats.
